Life´s a beach

WOW really having a great time so far. Meeting all sorts of good people in the hostel and laughing almost all the time. Sorry I can´t get photos loaded up just yet but I might try some tomorrow.

As I type this post the entire hostel seems to be building up to heading out for a night on the town. I might get cut off if that happens but I will try to bring you up to speed quickly.

Yesterday I met up with Maria´s family here in Peru. They came to the hostel and picked me up then we headed off to their uncle´s gallery to see his paintings. I felt very honored to meet with the artist of paintings in a galllery and hear his stories behind what he was thinking while he was painting the pictures.

Then we were off to a birthday party where I got to meet Maria´s brother & sister and the rest of the family. They are very nice people and I got to see some more of the city that I might not have seen.

But before all of that happened Marianne and I from the hostel went down to the beach here in Lima. How AMAZING! Big beautiful cliffs and very powerful waves crashing against the coast. It was a really great walk and the entire city is covered with a mist these past few days. I was really releaved to realize that it wasn´t smog like I first thought.

Now today…. There is a German guy in my room named Jens and then Marianne and Dan from England. The four of us headed out for breakfast and went to Hermanos Pasqueli. It is one of the restaurants owned by the really famous Peruvian chef. Really good food. Then we headed down the beach and even through the mist I got some WICKED SUN! I look like I am wearing a permanent white tank top. After a small rest in the hostel Marianne and I went back to Lacomar (shopping mall here in Lima). Earlier today we looked the movie theater there and decided to see Mamma Mia.

I LOVED the movie! So great! It was hard for me to sit still in my seat. For a man that doesn´t like musicals I sure seem to enjoy everyone that I see. I feel like I am missing so much of this update but really I think that is it. We aren´t doing much but the time we are spending just hanging out in a forgein country visiting I wouldn´t even attempt to trade for anything else.

Talk to you all soon
