LOL so 209.6 km later and I am safely home from my spur of the moment road trip to Vegreville, Alberta on a blizzard condition, white out, down to one lane highway.
I was going a bit stir crazy at home and needed to get out. When my attempts to get someone to go watch the NFL game failed I decided “ROAD TRIP”!
When I left the roads seemed fine, but as soon as I left the city the snow started. Then the road became one lane. Then passing Semi Tractor Trailers became a white knuckle, start to pray experience.
Armed with a Super Big Gulp from 7-11 and my iPod I knew I could handle it. 🙂 I listened to some rocking tunes that I hadn’t heard in awhile and the drive was exactly what I needed to clear my head.
Sometimes in our lives I think we just need to make those crazy decisions to go visit a friend 100 km away at 7:30 at night in bad weather on a work night. My visit with Becky was a good one and if anything I practiced my winter driving. (A skill you don’t want to get rusty with living in Alberta)
Here is a picture I snapped for the blog from my front windshield. It paints a good picture but the one thing the camera didn’t pick up was the massive amount of driving snow flying at the windshield like warp speed stars on Star Trek or that screen saver Starfield.
Don’t take this the wrong way as I mean it in the nicest possible way…ARE YOU NUTS?. You know what you are supposed to do when they say blowing snow and stay off the highways? STAY OFF THE HIGHWAYS! I am very glad to hear you had a nice visit and I am much gladder (is that a word) to hear you made it home safe and sound.
You make me laugh, you are a true original and if anyone ever says they have you figured out they are lying. Thanks for keeping life interesting, I love coming to work in the morning and seeing what you have been up to (but let’s keep the daredevil stuff to a minimum please).

LOL I love the comment! As for the daredevil stuff… It isn’t always planned it just sorta happens but like I remember Homer Simpson saying “I’ll try to try” >;-)

Hahahaha Thank goodness I am a vegetarian now otherwise I might view this as a dare. Oh wait I didn’t eat bacon before I became a vegetarian! LOL Nice Mich!
