Castel Fusano

It feels good to be back in Rome but it is interesting to me how many changes I noticed this trip. I didn’t think Rome changed from 2006 to 2007. However I skipped 2008 and therefore I think the minor changes that happen in a time period are more noticiable. Nothing bad so far just different. Well one bad thing… My favorite bartender here has gone back to Australia 🙁

So far things have been pretty chill. I am still unwinding. I slept my first day here then went out for a late supper with some great people from my room. Very cool people, one guy worked for Yahoo on their homepage so I enjoyed talking with him.

Then today was the BEACH! I haven’t gone to the beach in Rome until now but it was beautiful and I am sure I will be back. It is only a 1 Euro metro/train trip out of the city. Most people got off the train at Ostia Antica. Therefore I decided not to get off until the 2nd last stop, Castel Fusano!

Very private, very little to no English spoken, and amazing beach country clubs that you can pay to visit for the day that make you feel like you are staying at a 4 star resort. I was there very early and stayed in the shade of my umbrella for most of the day but still got A LOT of sun! Not a bad burn, but my legs are a nice shade of sting and feel very warm. I expect to feel fine by the moring. All the sun though made me sleep right through the free pasta in the hostel at 7 pm 🙁
