I have never been an outdoor runner but I have always loved running indoors on the treadmill. My main reason for this in the past was I like to have the option to really zone out when I run. Living in the city I never thought it very safe to zone out when you have crosswalks and cars to deal with.
However I was recently in Calgary and happened by the Deerfoot Outlet mall on the second last day of the Sport Check closing out sale. I picked up a beautiful pair of Adidas runners that I have wanted to own. Whenever I stay at the Fairmont hotels they always provide me with a pair of Adidas Supernova runners in my size to work out during my stay. It is part of their “Fairmont Fit” perk for members staying with them. The shoes are comfy, lightweight and airy.
On the day I lost my iPod I wanted to get out of the house and clear my head. So I grabbed my new shoes and headed out for a run. I will keep you posted on my status but right now let’s just say it isn’t stellar. I am enjoying it though. I run to the top of the River Valley, along the top and then usually walk back home.
I just stumbled across this video and now I wonder if maybe I shouldn’t have bought Nike instead of Adidas…
lol… well that might just get me to join in a jog too!
(I too usually can’t get into enjoying a run, rather opt for activities like soccer to keep my attention and get me active).
