So today I turn 30 in Turkey! Since the beggining of this trip I have been reinventing myself for the year ahead. This year is no different as you get so much time with yourself when you travel alone.
I have formulated these 30 Wishes / Intentions for the years ahead. Since there are no cake or candles involved with a blog post, I figure I can share these wishes with you.
- To learn to love like I used to, but different
- To continue to minimalized my appartment when I get home
- Paint the large scale canvas I have been putting off
- To never give up on my travel goals
- To get a second job when I get home to pay off some debt from my past travel goals and future ones
- Continue my agressive savings plan to use as a downpayment on a home
- To continue being a Vegetarian
- To stay caffiene free
- To continue the dramatic weightloss from this vacation
- To set-up my fish tank again
- Watch all the episodes of Big Brother 11 without finding out who won till I am caught up
- Have more friends over
- Get a place with a spare room so that friends I meet from around the world can come stay with me
- Be a good role model and a part of my nephew’s life
- Either renew my gym membership or pool membership
- To not see Kylie Minogue anymore unless she comes to me in Edmonton
- Return to explore Asia including revisiting the Philippines, visiting China, Japan, and Tibet!!!
- Visit Africa
- Visit Brazil
- Visit Russia after taking Russian Level 1
- Work hard to acheive my freedom 35 goal, even if I don’t hit it I will be in a wonderful place if I strive for it
- Cement my Spanish
- Correct my French that my Spanish has damaged
- Buy a canoe or a Kayak for the cabin
- Go downhill skiing in British Columbia
- Buy property in a foreign countr(y)(ies)
- Buy a big BMW motercycle, one that doesn’t make me look like my feet are dragging on the ground
- Resume Yoga!
- Continue to Eat Life Up!
OK Drink Life Up too!
Welcome to 30, my friend!
That list sounds adventurous, exciting (and if I know you at all) most likely achievable!
I hope you enjoy your 30’s just as much as you’ve enjoyed eating up life thus far!
Congrats and can’t wait to see you when you get home, neighbor! 🙂
Hugs!!

LOL I didn’t think of it as a bucket list but it sort of is isn’t it? However I would qualify that by saying that it is a short term bucket list. The actual bucket list would be much longer.

I love the list and can help with a few of them. That makes me feel special. In all – the list is something most of us can take a note or two from. Good for you. Can’t wait until you’re home. B

Okay Neil. This is my third and last try to send you a Happy Birthday!! (Techno-idiot at work here)
Love Sicilian cannoli. That picture surpassed the Italian Bakery.
Beach? Athens? was that in the suburb of Glyfada by any chance?
Open-air movies… so much fun… I lost part of the dialogue from Annie Hall when planes zoomed overhead.
I was worried about you in Istanbul. Then I didn’t think it likely that you would be in the commercial district during the flood. That would be so unlike you.
Kylie Minogue is going to miss you.
Take care.

Thanks Marilyn! It worked! OMG seeing the words Sicilian Cannoli make me crave one soooo bad again!
Not sure the name of the suburb, but it was at the end of the tram line.
I think I left Istanbul 30 mins into the flooding.
