Well I just got back from seeing the screening premier of…

“Seven Pounds” 2008
Rating: ★★★½☆

It is the new Will Smith movie that will be released on December 19th. You may remember it as the one you are seeing previews for right now that leave you wondering ¿What the hell is it about?

  • Well the first third of the movie might still have you thinking ¿What the hell is it about?
  • Then the second third of the movie you are hoping it will pick up some speed and you might have an idea what it is about.
  • Then the last 3rd of the movie is pretty awesome! Up till this point I wasn’t sure I was going to be a fan of the movie.

Michelle and I both liked it and had a good time visiting tonight. This movie in my books is one that you don’t need to rush to see in the cold on icy roads and pay a bazillion dollars to see in the theater. It is more of a wait for DVD, curl up at home, and enjoy it movie. Michelle might not agree but if she doesn’t I am sure she will comment.

Surrounding Oscar buzz for Will’s performance in this movie…? Nothing Oscar worthy here, but then Oscar and I sometimes don’t agree. I would be more tempted to nominate him for “I am legend” if I had to nominate him for something.

If you see the movie, you be the judge and be sure to return here and share your take. I love getting to know more about how some of the blog readers perceive the world and hearing their opinions.

Morning hubby (seriously that was my favourite part of the evening, that was the best natural laugh I have had in ages). Your review of the movie is bang on, the ending made the rest of it worth seeing. Will’s performance was very good but I don’t see Oscar nomination in his future but then again me and Oscar also don’t tend to see eye to eye. Thanks again for the great evening!

HAHAHA I thought about that on the bus this morning! I was busy multi-tasking while writing my review and completely forgot to mention my new wife. Though when I think about it now it would take too much set-up and explanation. That was a highlight of the evening though. :-)

Yeah I think it was one of those you had to be there moments. But it will be a funny moment for ages to come!

Aw.. you guys would make such a cute married couple… aside from the whole “opposites” on the attraction side. Maybe more like a stereotypical old married couple (where sex isn’t really in the picture) – but god knows I don’t want to believe in, or perpetuate, that stereotype (especially as I venture into a new marriage myself).

Anyways rambling here… I call for a toast to the new Mr. and Mrs. Gordon. May your years together be filled with happiness!!!
