Some cool updates on the Peru trip.
I have been in contact with a friend’s niece in Lima, Peru and have discussed hanging out while I am in Lima. I am very excited about this because it will help me break away from the normal tourist scene, practice my Spanish and add more heart to my holiday.
So far some plans we have are attending her brother’s birthday party on my second day there. I am really excited about this. It sounds like a house party and she says that I will really get to practice my Spanish hanging out with all their friends.
Then her cousin’s husband is a painter and he has his works on display in a gallery in Lima so we hope to check that out.
I also told her that I would like to try paragliding and she said she knows just the place!
As for restaurants her Brother is studying to become a chef so he will have plenty of good ideas for places to go eat.
General updates from today include deciding to get my flu shot for the first time. I figured why stop at just Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Hep A & B LOL. I also packed my backpack tonight and I am VERY proud of myself, it is very minimalistic and super light, I may even try to take it as carry-on so I don’t have to worry about my luggage getting separated from me.
Feeling in a Spanish mood I will end this blog with one of my favorite Spanish songs. “La Camisa Negra” by Juanes.
Sounds like your going to have a GREAT trip Neil!!! Having that personal inside will let you experience Peru from a locals perspective
